CLS Holdings secures planning consent for sustainably focused offices in Vauxhall

CLS Holdings, a FTSE 250 office space specialist, has this week secured detailed planning consent for a new 10-storey office in the heart of Vauxhall, adjacent to its head office.

The development on Vauxhall Walk, SE11, will provide 28,500 sq ft (2,648 sq m) NIA of grade A office space, with a communal and private south-facing roof terrace, a café, shower and changing facilities along with secure cycle storage. It will have a brick façade, aiming to integrate the building into the wider Spring Mews estate, which CLS built over two phases completing in 2014 and 2018.

The building will have openable windows on all elevations, smart lighting and PV panels. It is expected to achieve EPC A and BREEAM Excellent ratings and will also capture a significant amount of data to continually improve its energy efficiency and performance.

CLS Holdings have also secured planning consents for major refurbishment of 9 Prescot St in the City of London and their Vor dem Lauch 14 site in Stuttgart, Germany.

Simon Wigzell, Head of Group Property at CLS, says: “These projects are a demonstration of our ability to actively manage our assets to deliver sustainable buildings and ultimately value for our stakeholders. During this challenging time, we have remained focused on our occupier’s requirements throughout the design process. All the buildings will have fully openable windows, air quality monitoring, photovoltaics, roof top terraces, cycle storage, lockers, showers and break out café reception facilities. By focusing on sustainability, health and wellbeing we are creating places people will want to work from.”
